Eco-friendly Bags- A Modern Change

We keep hearing about plastic pollution. The fact that plastic can come almost daily from news sites, people around, news channel is that plastic has a negative effect on the environment and health. This always brings us to the question: how can a simple plastic bag harm our beautiful environment and our health? You may think that we use plastic bags every day, everywhere in the mall, department store, home, office, but we have never had any health problems, right?

But it has been proven that we all think wrong. Yes, according to SAS (Surfers Against Wagon), there are approximately 51 trillion microscopic pieces of plastic that weigh 269,000 tons of plastic pollution. This is equal to 1,345 adult blue whales or 500 times the number of stars in our galaxy. Anyway, let’s look at the numbers. The numbers don’t end there every day, almost 8 million pieces of polluted plastic from coastal areas find their way into our oceans.

Compared to these numbers, we are encouraged to use reusable or environmentally friendly bags. But why? Why is plastic so bad in so many ways?

Do we all know that plastic comes from oil? Oil is a non-renewable and non-biodegradable natural resource. This means that plastic is never really dead. As a result, they continue to pollute and have become permanent polluters of land, water and health. In addition to human health, plastic is also harmful to birds, animals and fish.

A permanent and effective solution as an alternative to this harmful plastic is reusable and ecological bags. These bags are made from a variety of plant like fibers including cotton, hemp, bamboo and jute.

The fibers used to make the bags are organically grown and sustainable. They are biodegradable and ecological and do not harm our environment. In addition, these bags are durable and reliable.

So, are reusable bags really better than plastic bags and if so, how? Tell us through different situations

Reusable bags: marine pollution

Because plastic bags are not reusable or biodegradable, they are constantly flowing into our oceans. This will ultimately damage the planet’s most important natural resource. In addition, it is a constant threat to people, animals and of course the environment. Replacing plastic with eco-friendly bags that are biodegradable is a great way to prevent all threats as they can be recycled and reused.

Reusable bags: sustainability

A reusable plastic bag is a type of container that can be used multiple times for different purposes. It is a great alternative to a single card or plastic card. These bags are made from natural and organically grown fabrics. This allows multiple uses of one bag and ultimately reduces the amount of daily plastic waste.

Reusable bags: ecological

These bags are bags that are really good for daily activities like shopping. According to the study, “four or five reusable bags replace 520 plastic bags per year if used once a week.” The advantage is that a reusable bag can be used many more times than a single plastic bag before it is finally emptied. We can easily buy them in supermarkets and clothing stores.

What is the reason:

It’s a common human tendency to like cheap things and forget their side effects. The same applies to plastic bags, they are undoubtedly cheap compared to ecological bags, but at the same time they have several harmful effects. After all, these stylish bags are logical and unrecognizable.

Tip: As an alternative, we can use insulated lunch bags to take a small step every day to prevent damage to health and the environment.
